Dutch cooperative insurer Achmea announced that Can Akın Çağlar has decided to step down from his position as CEO of Eureko Sigorta, as of May 10 2019. Çağlar was holding this post for the past five years. According to Achmea, he will begin to serve in his new position as an independent Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eureko Sigorta.

We would like to thank Can Akın Çağlar for his contribution and are pleased that he has agreed to continue to support us as an independent non-executive director.“
Until July 31st 2019, Çağlar will also serve as a special advisor to Robert Otto, member of the Executive Board of Achmea and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eureko Sigorta. (He is going to continue his role as Chairman of the Turkish Association of Insurance Companies)

Uco Vegter, currently Managing Director of Achmea International, will be acting as CEO of Eureko Sigorta until Achmea has appointed a new CEO.
